• Jekaterīna Guļbinova from LMT will give a talk “Testing Smart Intersections: QA Challenges in an AI-Powered Traffic Monitoring System”
  In this session, we’ll explore how our QA team tested an AI system that detects traffic violations and recognizes license plates, sending data directly to the national road authority (CSDD). We’ll share the unique challenges of validating new intersections, ensuring model accuracy, and building a test strategy for a system that interacts with the physical world. Real-world complexity meets structured QA thinking — and some lessons you don’t want to learn the hard way.

• Anna Viktorija Pakere from Mintos will give a talk “BDD in regulated finTech – using Cucumber JVM in CI/CD”
  In this talk, we’ll explore how we apply Behavior-Driven Development using Cucumber JVM in regulated fintech systems like Mintos Wallet. You’ll see how we integrate Gherkin-based scenarios into our CI/CD pipelines, how Software Engineers in Test (SETs) own both the scenarios and their implementation, and why critical thinking and a research mindset matter when writing meaningful tests. Drawing from multiple Java-based projects, we’ll cover real lessons on scaling BDD, preventing false confidence, and learning from bugs to make our tests smarter over time.

  This talk explores implementing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using SpecFlow in a Scrum team working on a legacy insurance domain system. We’ll speak about the challenges of transforming the team to adopt the BDD mindset while dealing with a legacy tech stack (ASP .NET, MS SQL, Jenkins, git).

  Nowadays the topic about IAM (Identity and Access Management) is getting more relevant, when considering ways to secure applications, identify users. In order to to understand how does it work one must understand modern authentication and authorization. OAuth2.0 and OIDC are globally used protocols, which teach us how to implement and handle all the necessary elements in this IAM world. Quite often this is a “knowledge gap” for an average developer, so it might be valuable to understand the basics underneath.

  – learn to understand common concepts like tokens, authorization server, etc.

Started out as a developer many years ago while living close by with Microsoft ecosystem – C#, .NET, Azure, etc. During last 6 years Jānis has been working closely not only with MS technologies but on top of that building Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. IAM solutions require quite a lot of attention to detail and specific knowledge to deliver both centralized solutions and consumer specific.

• Atis Straujums from Zimperium will give a talk on “White-box Cryptography: Protecting Keys on Insecure Devices”.
  White-box cryptography makes it possible to use cryptography on insecure devices where attackers can observe memory at run-time and have full control over code execution.
